1) EDITOR'S THOUGHTS!

Hi.

The stories have now started to come again and I am
grateful for this. Please keep them coming.

Remember to go to:

http://www.crazyaboutwesties.com/forum/index.php

and post your questions and stories

Look forward to hearing from you.

Also I am looking for stories for the new category

"Touched By Kindness"

A fr*e copy of the book is given to all stories that
get featured. Go to the forum and just post it there.

I feature again the story of kindness (see 4) which
was kindly posted by one of our readers.

Hope you are all well. Our younger son Jonathan fell
of his bike today. Scrapped his face. He is really
going to have a swollen face tomorrow. His reply from
a 13 year old is "That'll be cool". They keep me young.
That's what I keep telling myself, but the worry never
stops.

A happy holiday to all USA readers

Take care of yourselves.

Jeff

2) THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“101 Kind and Positive Thoughts For
Westie Owners On Rough Days!”

We are all searching for the dream of happiness, but for most of the time and for most of us, the dream alludes us. In my own case, happiness is found when relationships with family and friends are going well.

With this in mind, please consider the following inspirational quote below:

*********************************************************

“Consider the following. We human are social beings. We come into the world as the result of other’ actions. We survive here in dependence on others.

Whether we like it or not, there is hardly a moment of our lives when we do not benefit from others activities. For this reason it is hardly surprising that most of our happiness arises in the context of our relationship with others

………………….. Dalai Lama”

Dalai Lama: is a winner of the Nobel Peace prize and the religious and political leader of the Tibetan people. His favorite verse is “For as long as space endures and for as long as living beings remain, until then may I too abide to dispel the misery of the world”

3) READERS QUESTION!

a) Question Posted On the Forum: Craniomandibular
osteopathy (CMO) or Lions Jaw

This is something that usually effects Westies until they reach their first year. Bone grows around the jaw area causing discomfort and if not treated can lead to the jaw not being able to open much.

My 6 month old westie seems to have this but she has it on the top of her skull and not in her jaw. I was wondering if anyone had heard or experienced anything like this with another westie. It comes and goes on her and when its was at its worst the bump on her head was almost 1 inch high! She was in a lot of pain and it made me really sad.

Thanks for any info
Nicola

Reply by me:

Hi Nicola

The Craniomandibular osteopathy (CMO) or Lions Jaw is one of the health issues which do affect West Highland white terriers.

I do hope that your 6 month old Westie is coping well and also yourself. You feel the pain yourself and I hope this sadness passes.

Please keep in touch. What is the name of your Westie

Kind regards

Hello - my westie Mack developed CMO in his jaw when
he was a few months old. He is thankfully fine now,
although he does like his food to be cut into small
pieces which I presume is because his jaw is tender.

I hope your westie is coping well and the CMO hasn't
developed. Do let us know how he is getting on.

4) TOUCHED BY KINDNESS - Posted on the forum at:

http://www.crazyaboutwesties.com/forum/index.php

I am reminded of a lovely incident while visiting a good friend in hospital. We were standing in the queue at the cafe waiting to pay for our food.

Meanwhile a lady with a very young child was getting very embarrassed and stressed because she could not find money to pay for her selected food items. These included a small meal for her daughter.

Suddenly an elderly gentleman went to the cashier and paid for the items for this young mother. This action was not a major event. It would not make the daily news. However in the eyes of this mother it meant the world. She exchanged words of sincere thanks and I do believe she would have cried, based on her body language.

It was such a lovely gesture. A genuine touch of kindness that had a lovely impact on the person who needed it at that time.

I hope that this story is enjoyed and will spur others to post more.

Janet
