also on offer.

3) READERS QUESTION!
a) Question Posted On the Forum: How Big Is Your Westie by Bossladylana
We have a 7 month old Westie who is getting a little chubby. He likes to eat and I may be feeding him too much. We feed him
twice a day. Morning and evening. I weighed him the other day on my bathroom scale and I think he weighed about 18 lbs.
It is hard to weigh him as he is never still for a minute. He is a bundle of energy.
We also have a little Yorkie who is 4 months old. She is about 2-2 1/2 lbs so he looks huge beside her. Is this about a normal
size for a Westie or is he going to be an extra big boy? He is very healthy, lots of energy, exceptionally intelligent
(I think he can outsmart my husband and I)
His coat is beautiful, although a little short right now as the groomer cut to much off of him. He is muscular and very strong
for a dog his size. This is our first Westie, so I am not very familiar with all the characteristics of this breed. He can
also be very stubborn and strong willed.
He is loving, although he is not a lap dog, he can't sit still that long. He is getting better about letting us pet him as he
gets older. He loves to go outside with my husband and run around while hubby does outside work. When my husband was carrying
in firewood for the fireplace last night, Duffy was carrying in sticks. (he was helping).

Aibo will be 7 months-old next Monday. He weights 6 kilos about 13.22lb. I look him slim, not really skinny, but in good condition.
The doctor said he is OK. He expects for him to gain some weight
by 9-12months, that is when he should have the definite weight.
Suppose your young one is passing through the difficult stage of the adolescence Evil or Very Mad as well. Has he been
neutered yet??
----------------------------------------------------------------
Answer by: bossladylana
No, we have not had him neutered yet. I know it's time. I just hate
for him to be anesthesized. I will have it done soon.
My husband and I both love him very much. We wouldn't change him,
but he can be a challenge at times.

Challenge you said??? We as well do not agree a lot with the idea
of having him neutered. The vet. told is the healthier thing we can do,
and that his behavior will improve big time, hope so.
The trainer told us that in this particular period most of the dogs
(of any breed) is when they are given in adoption or abandoned, because people don't know how to deal with all this.
I'm buying lots of books about behavior, and I'll look for one that
explains how to deal with a canine-male-teenager-warrior wanna be!!
Anyone can help us???

Reply by Karen:
I've got a labrador teenager at the moment Laughing He can be a little so-and-so at times, but he's not too bad. Although I am
reinforcing his basic training all the time as he became more ignorant once the adolescent stage hit, which is like any teenager!
Rolling Eyes So I would say keep up the training, let them know who's pack leader and hopefully they will come out of the teenage
tantrums a well adjusted adult dog Wink
Although, my mum has been telling me about Hamish and Rufus' escapades
recently and it sounds like she's got a couple of difficult old men
there - not sure what I prefer Very Happy Laughing
