Hi.

Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

3) READERS QUESTION!
a) Question Posted On the Forum: How much should a new puppy sleep?
Posted By Genevieve
Was wondering how much a new puppy should sleep. Dave- how much is Lucy sleeping? During the day, Henry plays for about an hour, then zonks out for 1 to 3 hours. I'm afraid I'm letting him sleep too much in the evening and therefore, he is waking in the middle of the night. But maybe, this is just normal puppy behavior?
This picture is of Henry coming in from a bathroom break. It's cold so once he is done with his business, I sweep him up in a towel and hold him there until he's toasty warm. He looks like a little polar bear

Reply By Julie:
Hi Genevieve ,
Puppies do sleep a lot , they're very much like human babies ! Smile We try and get Hamish to have a playtime just before we go to bed and he's sleeping all night ......mind if he didn't Katie & Lottie would soon be grumbling at him as they sleep really well and are always reluctant to get up when our alarm clock rings ! Smile

Puppies sleep lots, so make the most of it as this decreases as they get older and you wish then that they would go to sleep Laughing

Reply By Dave Green:
I get up in the morning about half 7 and feed Lucy and have a play. I leave her about half 8 and I am back for 1pm to feed her again.
She sleeps most of the time I am out and is usually in her bed
wet I get home to see her. She has got lots of toys to amuse herself with and I can see where she has been playing.
She gets up in the night to potty, but then settles again. I do shut the door to my bedroom so I cant hear her cry, but then she settles at night.
She was full of joy this morning when I got up. Her potty is always on the paper, but I am not letting her out for this week, until she is fully
recovered

Reply By Mike:
Hi Dave
As mentioned in the above posts
A puppy needs as much sleep as he/she can get.
As long as Lucy is eating and drinking like she usually does, and Lucy is active and playful when she is awake, there should be no problem
Genevieve
