Hi Everyone
I have an important question:
Quote:
Do You Know Someone Who Made A Difference But Didn't
Realize It?........
I am developing another project based on the above question? Have you ever seen the film "It's A Wonderful Life! -(My Favorite) It's featured every Christmas on most TV channels.
The overview of the film is Quote:
An angel helps a compassionate but despairingly frustrated businessman George Bailey by showing what life would had been like if he never existed
. It is an old black and white film, but it's story is eternal.
I am looking for stories of people you know who have made an important difference in your life or your family's life, but never
realized or were told. I am not talking about movie, sport or music stars.
I would appreciate your replies, because I value them all
Kind replies
Jeff

3) READERS QUESTION! - How can I get him to stop
Posted By Holly.
Hello, I am having a problem with my westie. He is chewing on his feet till they bleed, I call it suckeling! He is one and a half years old and just started this nasty habit a few months ago . How can I get him to stop???? HELP!!!!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I AM not saying that your westie has the below but it's worth getting it checked NOW
In the meantime put BABY COTTON SOCKS AND LOOSELY PUT A LITTLE TAPE AROUND TO STOP THEM COMING OFF
Be aware that if your westie licks her/his paws at all hours of the day and night, the problem may well be Demodex mites.
Robbie had this problem 3 years ago, and we tried a small dose of steroid tablets, steroid creams between the toes, his paws were very very sore, and the more he licked the more he damaged them, In the night we had to get him to wear cotton socks which I had from the baby dept, in the local supermarket.
The months were getting on with no let up, another appointment was made at the vets, and another vet called us in, "Sorry to have kept you she said, the other vet has gone to another practice, but I have been looking at Robbie's medical history, and to be perfectly honest we are not getting anywhere are we,"
She then told us she was going to do several test on him and I was to ring in the following morning,
That afternoon the vet rang to tell us that they have found the problem with Robbie and it' was "Demodex mites"
Well to be honest it was a heck of a shock and a relief at the same time,
"STOP THE STEROIDS RIGHT AWAY" she said as that only aggravates the problem , in other words we were not helping poor Robbie at all,
I had to go down and get "Aludex" mange mite wash and completely wash the dog in it and leave it dry on the dog,
First I bathed Robbie in Malasab shampoo, left it on for 10 Min's then completely rinse, then apply 5 mils of Aludex into a small dish of tepid water,
apply to the dog with rubber gloves, and let dry on the dog, then brush and comb in the normal manor,
This I done on a regular basis every week for 6 months with out fail.
Robbie has been completely cured, his coat much thicker and now looks a million dollar.

Hi ,
I really think a trip to the Vet is called for to try and sort this out , it could be Mites as Mike suggested or an allergy .

Holly, I've been gone & I just read your request.
All the things the others have recommended I would too but if, after all the testing, you don't find a real reason, perhaps it is a psychological condition called lick granuloma.
My Odie developed this with the middle of his tail and chewed and licked until it was bloody. I treated the wound and then used a product called Bitter Apple (I think there's Bitter Orange and other scents), but keep in mind you're dealing with a terrier with a will of steel. Be vigilant, persist and I think you can stop this.
