1) EDITOR'S THOUGHTS!

Hi All

I hope you are all keeping well.

I will give you an update of the new private membership site. Basically it will have to be put on hold for a few weeks more.

Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. I am not happy with the finished product and will now update it slowly in the background. I know what I want for the finished product and I am looking for an economic way to combine the software that
will run the site professionally.

There is software that will do it, but it is too expensive and would make the monthly cost too much for the members. This other software has to be changed completely to match the design that I want.

As always sincere thanks to Mike for looking after the forum. He is just great as you all know. Maureen is home and he is so appreciated of all your kind thoughts. I will help him a bit more on the forum.

Don't forget to go and post all your stories and news at:

I Am Thankful

For the teenager who is complaining about doing dishes--
Because that means he is at home not on the streets.

For the taxes that I pay--
Because it means I am employed.

For the mess to clean after a party--
Because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.

For the clothes that fit a little too snug--
Because it means I have enough to eat.

For my shadow that watches me work--
Because it means I am out in the sunshine.

For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing--
Because it means I have a home.

For all the complaining I hear about the government--
Because it means we have freedom of speech.

For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot-- Because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.

For my huge heating bill--
Because it means I am warm.

For the lady behind me in church who sings off key--
Because it means I can hear.

For the pile of laundry and ironing--
Because it means I have clothes to wear.

For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day--
Because it means I have been capable of working hard.

For the alarm that goes of in the early morning hours--
Because it means I am alive.

3) READERS QUESTION! - Why a Westie - posted by Debbie

Hi I notice that a lot of you had a Yorkie before you had a Westie. Me Too. I was wondering what made you decide on a Westie rather than a Westie??? Just Curious............

--------------------------------------------------------

Because I always adored the breed since a child,
but one never came into my life, un-till I was asked to take on a rescue and yes it was a Westie

Mike
-------------------------------------------------------

We had a black miniature poodle before our first Westie.

How different can two dogs be?? Instant obedience all the time!! Her only purpose was to please and adore - what a shock when our first Westie came into our life (a Rescue like Mike's) - we absolutely loved her to bits but she was so different - she obeyed us but usually in her own time - no coming instantly at the first command!!

Our poodle was very lovable but didn't have this 'special' character that a Westie has - both Sukie and Bradley seem almost human - they pick up on your every mood it seems and if you are poorly they get so concerned.

I am definitely now absolutely hooked on the breed!! We thought Sukie was a one off but Bradley is definitely following in her footsteps and some!!

Pat
--------------------------------------------------------

We had a German Shepherd Dog named Duke for 12 years he passed away due to a massive heart attack.

I had never had a dog as a child and my Husband brought me Duke for my 21st birthday in fact I was expecting to have a Yorkie as I adored his sister's but deep down Alan wanted a Bigger Dog.

So I got to choose when we had Zac even then I wasn't sure if I wanted another pet going thorough the heartache of losing Duke but when Zac arrived he started to help the healing process for us all
