1) EDITOR'S THOUGHTS!
Hi All
I hope you are all keeping well.
First of all sincere welcome to all our new members. We have now over 300 on the forum and we are glad that you have found
the experience enjoyable and that you are finding the forum a fun place to be, with great members and great support through
good times and bad.
I apologize for the gap since the last issue of the newsletter but I have had a severe bug and at this moment in time am
suffering from a bad infection in my mouth. My dentist is back on
Monday and I have been living on painkillers. At times like these,
one does appreciate good health. Yes, I hate going to the dentist
but I will be so glad to see here.
Our Westie Pepper nearly was given way yesterday. He was in the back
on an away day and found our food and had a great time. I was wondering why he was so quiet.
As always sincere thanks to Mike for looking after the forum. I will try
now to get back to normal from next month.
Don't forget to go and post all your stories and news at:

Don't forget that I need stories on the new category:

4) READERS QUESTION! - How many in a litter?.............
- posted by shuhu
Hi
I have been researching as much as I can on westies as I want one,
and I have an unusual question... how many puppies can be born from
one single litter?
I have read many sources and they all say that its can go from 3 to
5 puppies, but I just saw a westie at a website that had 7 puppies,
is that normal?... they have pedigree but I want to be sure that this
is something "normal" in the breed...
-------------------------------------------------------------
One of mine was from a litter of 3 and another from a litter of 8 !!
It doesn't matter to the Pups it's just harder work for the Mum !

ohh, ok.. so it is not an unusual thing then
and yes it must be way harder for the mum since the bigger dogs are the ones that have that much puppies, and I was told that it
was because of this that Westies are a bit more expensive than ...
say a Golden Retriever, because of having very few puppies while
still putting at risk the mom.
Anyway, thanks shushu

Hi Shuhu
I'm so happy to read somebody from Mexico.
Please be sure the westie you're buying comes from a good and honest
breeder. As far as westies are not a common race, be careful.
If you need help, send a pm OK?

I Am Thankful
For the teenager who is complaining about doing dishes--
Because that means he is at home not on the streets.
For the taxes that I pay--
Because it means I am employed.
For the mess to clean after a party--
Because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.
For the clothes that fit a little too snug--
Because it means I have enough to eat.
For my shadow that watches me work--
Because it means I am out in the sunshine.
For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing--
Because it means I have a home.
For all the complaining I hear about the government--
Because it means we have freedom of speech.
For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot--
Because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
For my huge heating bill--
Because it means I am warm.
For the lady behind me in church who sings off key--
Because it means I can hear.
For the pile of laundry and ironing--
Because it means I have clothes to wear.
For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day--
Because it means I have been capable of working hard.
For the alarm that goes of in the early morning hours--
Because it means I am alive.
